Edwards International / Design Space / Equus Chevaline Dexx Liquid Membrane
This high-end new build residence on Wade River Rd, Auckland was designed by Design Space and constructed by Edwards International, situated on the water overlooking the river and surrounded by native trees. MPM Waterproofing Group was contracted to apply Equus Chevaline Dexx liquid membrane and fibreglass across the roof, deck, paved terrace and planters of this impressive waterfront property, completing the 328m² installation in November 2020.
The Chevaline Dexx system required a multi-coat application process including priming, a first body coat, fibreglass coat, final body coat and topcoat, with 24 hours drying time required between each coat. The project timeline was impacted by the Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown, during which certain areas of the unfinished build suffered weather damage. The MPM team successfully recovered the affected areas by applying an additional protective coating. Tidal patterns on the river created complex scheduling requirements throughout the project, demanding constant communication and coordination between contractors. The finished membrane delivers a standout grey and white finish suited to the aesthetic of this premium waterfront home, while providing long term protection from foot traffic and the elements.
